Street Photography
“I photograph to find out what something will look like photographed.” - Garry Winogrand
People, people, people. Candid street photography gives us slices of life, transitory moments that exist while the shutter is open and soon are gone. It is a challenging form of photography in many ways, requiring anticipating behavior, a good sense of timing, creative composition, and getting technical aspects correct in the moment. Most of all, it requires the patience to wait and see what happens. Patience is needed after shooting too, as the success rate in candid street photography is much, much lower than for, say, landscapes or portraits. But it’s all worthwhile when, out of hundreds of frames, you come across the compelling image.
