Politics:  Activism

“Somewhere inside of all of us is the power to change the world.” - Roald Dahl

Sometimes electoral politics is not enough and people take to the streets to bring about change. While events such as marches draw attention to serious issues, the atmosphere is generally upbeat:  there is camaraderie, enthusiasm, and sheer wit evident on signs and in chants.  As at candidate rallies, I am both participant and observer.  But, this time, my subjects are everyday citizens, so there is more opportunity for interaction.  I seek out images capturing the issue at hand and individuals making their voices heard.
